Lies. All lies. Yet, I believe these things, on some level.
1) I can’t lose weight. _So why try? _
2) If I lose weight, I will be left with a disasterously ruined body and need plastic surgery. _So why bother?_
3) I don’t care. _So why not eat another handful of Easter candy? _
4) I’m hungry. _I haven’t been hungry for years since I keep eating when I’m not hungry. _
5) If only I worked out regularly, I’d lose weight. _But I don’t have time to work out, so why bother? _
6) I won’t be happy until I lose weight. (Wait. Is this a lie? I believe this.)
7) No one wants to hang out with a fat girl. _So I’ll avoid people. _
8) I have always been fat, will always be fat, and will die fat. _Genetics, you know. _
9) As long as I stay fat, I will be ugly. _And I believe that I am so ugly. _
10) I must eat perfectly in order to succeed. _And by succeed, I mean “lose weight.” But I can’t seem to be Perfect, so why not give up? _

What lies do you believe?
How do we identify which is true and which is false?
And … does it even matter?
